Technical Program Manager

Glue is a well-funded startup working on the next generation of work communication tools. We believe that today’s work chat is noisy, unstructured, and not designed for productivity. We’re drawing from decades of communication innovation in structured notes, email, groups, and real-time messaging to create a tool that gets out of the way and lets teams exchange information and make decisions in a more natural way.

Opportunity

As our first Technical Program Manager, you will take the lead on guiding complex technical projects from concept to completion. Your mix of technical know-how and project management expertise will be key to ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with our goals while doing so quickly and iteratively. Working closely with our developers, designers, and leadership team, you’ll define project scope, build roadmaps, and manage timelines—all while keeping the lines of communication open and fostering collaboration.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the planning and execution of feature development and technical projects, managing scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery and ongoing success.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and go-to-market teams  to identify project requirements, risks, and dependencies, and ensure that we’re quickly meeting user needs.
  • Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, status updates, and retrospectives, ensuring that action items are tracked and completed on time.
  • Manage project changes and scope adjustments, ensuring that all changes align with project goals and constraints.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve project management processes and tools to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure it is accurate and up-to-date.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role, managing and delivering complex technical projects from start to finish.
  • Strong technical background or understanding of software development, with a solid understanding of web and mobile technologies.
  • Exceptional project management skills, including experience with agile methodologies, tools (such as Linear, GitHub, or Asana), and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and iterative approach to identifying and mitigating project risks and issues.
  • Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and resources with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management and a track record of driving innovation and delivering customer value.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and build strong relationships across teams.

Benefits

  • This is an early role, but we’re offering a competitive salary in addition to significant equity, a healthcare package, and whatever equipment you need to excel at your job.
  • Flexible vacation policy—we’re moving fast but want a sustainable culture.
  • We’re currently located in San Francisco, but open to remote applicants.
